Utilities
There are three potential utilities companies within Solano County. Please research your address and the provider for your coverage area. Please be advised California does have peak-hours pricing as well as income-based options.
Pacific Gas and Electric (main provider): https://www.pge.com
Things to keep in mind:
PG&E uses a Time-of-Use (TOU) rate structure, which means electricity prices vary depending on the time of day. Rates are higher during "peak hours," which differ based on your specific plan. For residential customers, peak periods typically fall within one of the following windows:
4:00PM – 9:00 PM (daily)
4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (weekdays only)
5:00PM – 8:00 PM (weekdays only)
To find your specific plan and learn how to manage energy use during peak hours, visit:
PG&E Time-of-Use Rate Plans
PG&E also offers a financial assistance program called CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy). This income-based program provides a monthly discount of 20% or more on your gas and electricity bills.
